What is Murray State College?

MSC is a two-year college in southern Oklahoma with a rich history and diverse student body. The college was established in 1908 and has grown into an institution that serves thousands of students each year. The MSC service area covers 10 counties including Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Coal, Garvin, Johnston, Love, Marshall, Murray and Pontotoc. Many of our students live in our service area, but other arrive on campus from throughout Oklahoma and other states.  In fact, we have students from all over the world!

Where is Murray State College?

With a host of online classes and programs, MSC is wherever you are!  If you'd like to attend classes on campus, our residential location is in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and we have a second campus about 30 miles away in Ardmore.

Why should I attend Murray State College?

Murray State College is a great place to begin, whether you are just starting a degree, starting a new career, or getting a jump-start on college. With 40+ degree options you are sure to find your future here! Thanks to a small-town atmosphere where everyone is treated like family, you will feel at home on the Murray State College campus. Our faculty, staff and administration are all dedicated to to student success and to making certain that from here, our students can go anywhere.

The College offers three Associate Degree options and four Certificate Program options:

When & how are classes offered?

Murray State College has three regular semesters every academic year: Summer, Fall, and Spring. There are also concentrated courses for students who want to complete classes in a shorter period of time. These sessions include Intersession classes between regulars semesters, six-week and eight-week sessions during fall and spring semesters, and four-week sessions during the summer semester.  Our classes are offered in person, fully online, and through hybird combinations of online/in person.

How much does it cost to attend MSC?

You can use the Cost of Attending Calculator to determine the price of attending MSC. Also, you'll want to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to see if you qualify for Financial Aid or other programs. There are also many generous scholarships available at MSC.

Can I tour campus?

Absolutely! We would love to show you our campus.  Tours are designed to offer an individualized introduction to MSC and to provide you with a genuine look at our campus environment.  Just fill out a Campus Tour Request Form or Contact the Outreach Team to set up your personalized campus tour today!

Living on Campus in Resident Housing

Murray State offers a variety of independent living arrangements, such as, the apartment-style housing known as the Aggie Suites; the dorm-style housing known as McKee Hall; the shared living apartments known as the West-Side Apartments; the off-campus single occupancy housing known as the Aggie Flats. Visit our housing page for more information and to complete a housing contract in order to hold your place in campus housing.

Enrolling in Classes

Student Support Services

Student Support Services is a federally funded program designed to improve retention and graduation rates of at-risk students through advisement, counseling, workshops and transfer assistance. Participants must meet eligibility requirements.

Dining Services

MSC offers a traditional dining hall and The Grind snack bar grill.

Student Organizations

As a way to enrich your college experience, you may want to consider joining one of the several Student Clubs and Organizations .
