Murray State College External Affairs establishes long-lasting relationships, enhance the image of the college, promote educational opportunities and to build financial resources that support the college. Our purpose is accomplished through the partnerships that we build and the philanthropy of alumni, friends, faculty and staff.
External Affairs includes the following areas:
Communications and Marketing – To increase public awareness and appreciation of Murray State College to prospective and current students, their parents and key constituents.
Grant Development – To assist faculty and staff in developing competitive grant proposals to provide external resources for college initiatives.
Workforce Development – To help students and businesses overcome barriers to economic growth through partnerships, hands on training and the development of employee skills that allow them to gain a competitive edge in the business arena.
Murray State College Foundation – To secure private support from individuals, businesses and alumni for the direct support of students and to further the college’s initiatives.
Murray State College Aggie Alumni Association – To support the college’s mission through interaction with current and former students and to cultivate a professional network of individuals who champion the growth of Murray State College.

Background
Murray State College Alumna Jordyn Frazier serves as Murray State College’s Assistant Vice President of External Affairs and Executive Director of the Murray State College Foundation. Frazier holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, an Associate of Arts degree in History from Murray State College, and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Project Management from Southeastern. While at Murray State, she participated in the student government association, Phi Theta Kappa, Baptist Collegiate Ministries, President’s Scholar Program and was a George and Donna Nigh Leadership Scholar.
Prior to her current position at Murray State, Frazier worked in the hospitality and retail industries including as assistant innkeeper at Miranda Lambert’s Ladysmith Bed and Breakfast before serving as the Executive Director of the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce for four years. In her role at the Chamber, she conducted all day-to-day operations, fostered business and community relationships, all financial budgeting, tourism marketing, community events and economic development. She remains passionate about Johnston County and Oklahoma and remains an active member of the Johnston County Chamber.
Frazier and her husband, Nick, live in Tishomingo with their three dogs and had their first child, Elijah, in February 2022. Outside of work, they enjoy the outdoors, four-wheeling, and watching movies from their massive movie collection. Frazier can also discuss The Office for hours.

Background
Peterson serves as Murray State College’s Public Information Officer. She holds a Masters of Agriculture degree in Agricultural Leadership from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Communications from Texas Tech University. Prior to her current position at Murray State, Peterson worked in media and public relations for 13 years at the Noble Research Institute in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Peterson and her husband, Robbie, live in Ardmore with their three dogs. Outside of work, they enjoy being outdoors and spending time with their twin nieces, family and friends, whether it’s on the golf course, fishing at the river or having cookouts.
